I’ve been teaching classes to groups, individuals, and aspiring yoga teachers since 2003. I’m a Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher E-RYT® 500 and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP®). I’m inspired by folks who explore and teach in the related fields of biomechanics, deep tissue release, and strength education, and my instruction reflects this inspiration. I offer classes that build students’ trust in their body’s innate intelligence. I'm grateful for all that I've learned, consciously and accidentally!

6-WEEK SERIES: The Basics of Yoga & Essential Movement

April 22 - June 3, 2024 (No class on 5/27)

Mondays 5:30-6:45pm (Seattle - PST*)

Wondering how to begin a movement practice? The Basics of Yoga & Essential Movement Series is for you if you want to systematically improve your range of motion, strength, and flexibility at a slower pace.

Is this yoga, or something else? It's a combo! There are things I learned in yoga that I didn't get anywhere else...and, there are "essential" movements I learned elsewhere that weren't always taught in yoga classes. This series, and what I offer in my classes, is a hybrid/combination of practices and movement modalities: movements for healthy joints, functional strength, along with basic yoga postures and other shapes that just feel good.

What to expect: * You’ll learn simple mindfulness skills and techniques * You’ll improve joint mobility and control * You’ll learn how to use simple props to cultivate strength, flexibility, mobility, or assist in deep tissue release * You’ll cultivate strength and stamina for life * You’ll be encouraged to practice at your own pace * You’ll receive emails with suggestions and support *

Pricing: $140 for the 6-week series. If you’re interested but are unable to pay the full amount please contact me and we’ll work something out.

Interested but the time doesn’t work for you? Class recordings are available to those who can't attend live classes. For attendance at this series please: have no major injuries or limitations, and the ability to safely get to and from the floor (or practice on a bed!).

Please note: for this series, it’s best if your ZOOM VIDEO is turned ON so I can see you. Plan to practice on an empty-ish stomach and with an open mind.

Equipment needed: A yoga mat or just a comfy place on the floor (or a very firm bed); 1-2 firm blankets or thick towels; a belt/strap of some kind; 1-2 yoga blocks or a couple of thick books you could stack on top of one another; a sturdy dining room chair or a metal folding chair

Upcoming: Yoga & Myofascial Release Classes & Workshops

In the Yoga & Myofascial Release classes and workshops we help to reset the body using massage therapy balls for connective tissue release, and unwind via yoga and corrective exercises. You leave with a sense of ease, length, and lightness.

I incorporate yoga and draw inspiration from practices and tools made popular by Katy Bowman and Jill Miller to target deep tissue and fascial release. Appropriate for newer students, those who need options to modify their practice, as well as longtime students who enjoy a practice designed to offer relief to deeper fascial planes that regular asana does not address.

Please note: some rubber therapy balls contain latex.
